1245 Worcester St. in Natick, Massachusetts. The grocery store located in will close later this summer.

The 1,34,000 square feet and multi-level facility employs 365 people. 142 of them work full time and 223 work part time.

It opened in Natick Mall in 2018, but was unable to secure enough of a customer base to keep the store afloat. The store is the supermarket chain’s first multi-level store in a major mall.

“Unfortunately, this non-traditional location did not attract enough customers to make our business model work,” Wegmans New England said. said Brian McKendrick, director of human resources.

A closing date for the store has not yet been announced, but all affected employees have been offered jobs at other Wegmans locations in Massachusetts.

The company has no plans to close stores at this time. It operates five Wegmans in the Greater-Boston area, including Medford, Burlington, Chestnut Hill, Westwood and Northborough.

There are about 110 Wegmans locations across the East Coast, including nine in New Jersey.
