The Masked Singer Season 11 Finale: Winner, Runner-Up Revealed

Spoiler alert: Details for season 11, episode 13 of “The Masked Singer,” “Final: One Mask Takes It All,” airing May 22 on Fox follow.

“The Masked Singer” winner Vanessa Hudgens admits she doesn’t need to play hide and seek: At least among her friends and fans, they’ve figured out she’s the one in the Goldfish costume.

“Rita [Ora] I guessed it was me from the jump,” Hudgens said. “But she’s also my friend. We saw each other a few days before the first episode!

Hudgens won the “Masked Singer” trophy this season, defeating Scott Porter, who played Gumball. Coincidentally, Hudgens and Porter previously starred together in 2009’s “Bondslam.”

Despite their history, Hudgens said the production kept her completely in the dark about who her competitors were. “I was invested every step of the way,” he said. “I’ve tried really hard to change the way they do things because I think it’s more fun if the contestants know who the other contestants are! They cover you up. But I’ll do my act and then sit backstage in my costume, completely covered up, and watch other people perform. Kevin Hart said in his Starting with the whole situation, I was cracking up. It’s just a wild ride. You never know what’s going to happen ‘Masked Singer’.

Hudgens noted that the show’s production team takes its secrecy very seriously. “I don’t see a single competitor,” he said. “If I was in the studio a lot, I had a face mask on, a hoodie and gloves, so my hands weren’t even showing. It was very hidden. But when it comes to singing and acting, it’s something I love and it’s honest, and it’s my I wanted to give it my all – even if it was completely hidden behind a mask.

So, what inspired Hudgens to film “The Masked Singer” last fall? “It’s an interesting time in our industry,” he said. “We were on strike and figuring out where to make the next move. My fans have been asking me for a long time to support me and love it when I sing. This is the perfect opportunity to give it to them – and see who the real fans are.

As for the winning goldfish, Rita Ora knew it was her friend Vanessa Hudgens, and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg agreed. Robin Thicke went with Hilary Duff. Ken Jeong said it was Nicole Scherzinger.

As for Gumble, nobody got Scott Porter right. McCarthy-Wahlberg and Thicke went with Derek Hough; Jeong said it was Taran Gillum and Ora guessed Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

For Season 11, host Nick Cannon joined hosts Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke, while Rita Ora joined the table to fill in for Nicole Scherzinger, who was in London to star in the West End’s “Sunset Boulevard.”

“The Masked Singer” Season 11 themed episodes include “The Wizard of Oz” in celebration of the classic film’s 85th anniversary; Musical tributes including “Transformers” (marking the brand’s 40th anniversary) and “Billy Joel Night” and “Queen Night.” Additional themes include “Girl Groups,” “The Soundtrack of My Life,” “TV Theme Night” and “Shower Anthem.”

With a total of sixteen popular singers, including three “wild cards,” Season 11 featured new costumes including “Gumball,” “Lizard,” “Ugly Sweater,” “Goldfish,” “Starfish,” “Book,” “Gumball,” “Miss Cleopatra.” ,” “Open Hound,” “Beats,” “Poodle Moth,” “Clock,” “Spaghetti & Meatballs,” “Lizard,” “Koala,” and “Sir Lion.” According to the show, the Season 11 contestants boast a combined 22 Grammy nominations, 11 platinum albums, 33 Teen Choice nominations, 108 million records sold, 326 film appearances and 1.7 billion Spotify streams.
