The NFL officially became a winter wonderland in Week 16.
The league had eight games that started with temperatures below freezing on Saturday, a record for a single day. Things were so cold in Nashville that the Texans-Titans game in Tennessee was delayed an hour, ordered because of the extreme cold.
The Panthers played their coldest home game in franchise history (20 degrees). In the beginning), which beat the Lions 37-23. The Ravens also had the coldest home game in franchise history (17 degrees), beat the Falcons 17-9. Not to be outdone, the Seahawks dealt with a temperature (12 degrees) It was the coldest for any regular season game in franchise history.
In a game where the weather wasn’t an issue in Minnesota, the Vikings beat the Giants 27-24 on Greg Joseph’s game-winning field goal of 61 yards. The kick is the fifth-longest game-winning field goal in NFL history. The Vikings are now 11-0 in one-score games this season, the most one-score wins in a single season in NFL history.
