LAS VEGAS — Boxing’s best young fighters Kerwonda “Tank” Davis and Ryan Garcia meet in a 12-round bout Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Davis (28-0, 26 KOs), 28, of Baltimore, Maryland, and Garcia (23-0, 19 KOs), 24, of Victorville, California, have long called each other out on social media. After lengthy negotiations, he agreed to fight at a catch weight of 136 pounds. Davis is ranked No. 3 in the lightweight division by ESPN. Garcia is the 6th junior welterweight in the division after two fights.
Both Davis and Garcia have won four of their last five bouts by stoppage, and both have incredible speed, power and a willingness to fight inside, all key ingredients for a highly entertaining bout. They also have a massive social media following with over 14 million followers on Instagram alone.
According to Caesars Sportsbook, Davis (-210) is a slight favorite over Garcia (+175).
