Johnny Depp Teasing Amber HartA motion to set aside his jury verdict as excessive … the $10 million verdict reflects the loss he suffered after he actually defamed himself.
After Amber’s op-ed appeared in the Washington Post in 2018, Janney’s attorneys say there is clear evidence that she didn’t appear in a studio production until October, 2020. That alone, lawyers say, supports the $10M verdict.
In fact, Depp’s legal documents indicate that one of Johnny’s representatives negotiated a $22.5 million deal for the sixth installment of “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Shortly before the Op-Ed was published, the producer, Jerry BruckheimerHe said he really likes Johnny.
As you know, after the op-ed, Johnny was private in the production.
Prosecutors say Johnny’s actual loss was more than $10 million…and experts proved at trial that it was more than $40 million.
Long story short … Johnny’s lawyers say Amber is grasping at straws.
TMZ broke the story … Amber filed legal documents last week claiming she was one of the jurors Fraudulently empaneled. His legal team says a man was subpoenaed, but a man from his home with the same name — the man’s son — turned out to be a judge after subpoenaing him, and his team says a new trial is warranted. Johnny’s team fires back… Amber could have protested at the beginning of the trial, but didn’t, so tough luck for her.
