Week 8 of the 2022 NFL regular season concludes with the Halloween contest Cleveland Browns (2-5) and competitor Cincinnati Bengals (4-3). Jacoby Brissett and Co. Started 2-1 and went on a four-game losing streak, while Cincy started 0-2 and has won four of its last five games.
Both teams are dealing with significant injuries this week, as the Browns will be without starting guard Wyatt Teller (calf), tight end David Njoku (ankle) and cornerback Denzel Ward (concussion). On the other hand, the Bengals will be without star wideout Jammer Chase for the next few weeks due to a groin injury, and it remains to be seen how effective the offense will be without him.
Joe Burrow is 0-3 in his career against the Browns, but he’s coming off two monster performances — throwing for at least 300 yards and scoring four total touchdowns in each of the past two games. Joe Mixon may be the star for the Bengals tonight, however, as the Browns have allowed 174.5 rushing yards per game and nine rushing touchdowns during their four-game losing streak. Both rank worst in the NFL during that span.
For the Browns offense, it will rely on one of the best running backs in the NFL. Nick Chubb enters Week 8 with the most rushing yards (740) and most rushing touchdowns (eight) in the league and has rushed for at least 106 yards in four of his seven career games against Cincinnati.
Can the Browns get back on track against a contender, or will the Bengals make Cleveland’s fans regret their passing on Monday night trick-or-treating? Follow this matchup as it happens in the live blog below.
