Anker showed off new Gallium Nitride (GaN) chargers. GaNPrime, uses the latest GaN 3 fast-charging technology to boost power up to 150 watts while taking up less space than the previous generation. Anker points out that its new flagship 150W GaNPrime charger is 38 percent smaller Apple’s 140W GaN MacBook Pro ChargerAnd Anker’s 120W version is 39 percent smaller than Apple’s 96-watt MacBook Pro charger, giving it a clear edge in portability.
Compared to Anker’s own previous generation of chargers, the sizes are slightly smaller. But they can still provide more power to more devices. “New [737 GanPrime] The 120W charger is 8 percent smaller than the Anker 736, but can output 20W more power … The increased power output and increased number of charging ports achieve our goal: reducing the number of chargers consumers have to juggle on a daily basis. ,” Anker’s head of communications, Edo Campos, said in an email this week.
It also includes new power allocation smarts that Anker calls Power IQ 4.0 and ActiveShield 2.0 temperature management. All together, this enables the GaNPrime gear to achieve a 1.6 percent increase in AC-to-DC conversion efficiency.
In its higher watt chargers (100W or more), Anker’s technology uses a digital power controller and IPS switch from Infineon to replace slower silicon materials and GaN power ICs from Navitas. In A November Decoder chapterAnchor CEO Steven Yang said the company released chargers with the technology months earlier than similar products because of the company’s early relationships with partners that make GaN components.
The new 150-watt Anchor 747 is the company’s new flagship charger for the US. It has one USB-A port and three USB-C ports with Power IQ 4.0, which Combos says can detect the needs of plugged-in devices and dynamically redistribute power from plug to plug. According to Campos, Power IQ does not track the percentage of power remaining per device; Instead, it prioritizes devices with the highest demand while ensuring that power goes to every device.
If it works as described, it can make using multiport chargers easier, ensuring everything charges as quickly as possible, and thinking less about where things are plugged in and how many ports are being used. Anker 747 150W is Available for pre-order for $109.99 and will ship in “Late Q3”.
Anker’s 727 charging station is an integrated power strip and 100W device charger. It’s only 18mm thick but can accommodate two grounded AC plugs straight from the top, and the front has two USB-C PD ports and two USB-A. ActiveShield 2.0 is also here to ensure the station doesn’t overheat, and while the power cord is detachable, be careful not to lose the in-line three-prong port as it’s non-standard. Now on sale for $94.99.
There’s a cool little AC power extension cord with a built-in 65W power supply that wraps its cord around the body and gently tucks it away in a silicone case — reminiscent of this one. Old weird Powergirl MacBook charger wrap. There are two USB-C ports and one USB-A port to go along with two AC outlets. Available now for $69.99.
The PowerCore line is updated with the Anker 733 (pictured above), Available now for $99.99. It is capable of drawing 65W of power through two USB-C ports and one USB-A port and its 10,000mAh power bank mode can charge an iPhone to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
