The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department plane crashed in Angels Crest near San Gabriel Reservoir, injuring five delegates, officials said.
The crash occurred at 4:52 p.m., near East Fork Road and State Route 39, according to a warning from Los Angeles County Fire Department and Superintendent Ornales.
Of the five injured, one is in critical condition, with two minor injuries and one minor injury, Ornelas said, and the condition of a fifth is currently unknown.
All five are going to a local trauma center, Arnellos added.
Barra, an aide to LASD, confirmed that the helicopter that crashed was a LASD helicopter, which Barra said crashed near the San Gabriel Dam.
Although LASD initially said the helicopter, LASD Air Rescue 5, could carry four people, Deputy Corner later confirmed that five delegates had been involved in the crash and all had been taken to local hospitals.
