Authorities say three people have been killed in a shooting at a Oklahoma hospital Wednesday.
The gunman, who was described as carrying a gun, was also killed, Tulsa police said in a statement.
Police Capt. Richard Mலllenberg said several people were injured in the shooting that erupted around 5pm at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. In a statement, police said the man entered the building on the hospital premises on Wednesday afternoon.
“It turned out to be an active shooting situation,” the department said.
It is not clear how the gunman died, and the cause has not been identified.
Authorities said he went to the second floor of the building and opened fire. The department said police were conducting room-to-room searches to look for other threats.
The White House said President Joe Biden had been briefed on the shooting and had approached state and local officials for support..
Agency officials said representatives of the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Guns and Explosives also responded to the scene.
