2022 Presidents Cup Scores, Results: Live Coverage, Standings, Golf Updates, Schedule for Friday’s Day 2

The United States leads 4-1 on Day 2 of the 2022 Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow Golf Club. America looked at home in Charlotte, and it looked like the Americans would win their 12th Presidents Cup. Adding to their dominance in the foursome on Thursday, they now turn their attention to the fourball, where the American team has been tied with the international team since 2007.

The international team sends out Adam Scott first, despite struggling strongly on Day 1 with veteran overseas team member Hideki Matsuyama, who will be paired with fellow Australian Cameron Davies as the pair aim to beat the American pair of Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth. In total, five four-ball matches will be contested as Trevor Immelman’s team tries to get back into contention.

Despite all the naysayers, a three-point deficit at the start of a tournament is insurmountable for an away team, as the USA showed at Royal Melbourne in 2019. In Australia, the U.S. lost the first session by the same 4-1 score, before lifting the Presidents Cup with a 16-14 victory over the weekend. While the chances of the international team replicating this feat are dim, it remains a possibility going into the second day of the event.
