Offense rules in senior softball

The Highlands senior 60s softball league was in action on Monday with Reflection beating Fairmount

Services by a score of 19-6.

Reflection was paced by Dave Reed with a pair of home runs, Greg Ramos had four hits, while Tom McNally, Bill Kelsey, Bill Ellicott and Rock Enfels banged out three hits each.

Alan Jay defeated the Cubs by a score of 16-11.

Alan Jay's Ray Trudell and Gallo Gonzalez had four hits each, while John Buja, Jim Radcliff, Ken Ferrano, Jamie Lopez and Les Osbeck had three hits apiece.

Wednesday games saw Fairmount Services move into a tie for first by beating Alan Jay 11-6.

Fairmount Services had super defense with three double plays and the hitting of Jim Goodhue and Gary Steeves with three hits each.

Bob Poulin earned the win on the hill.

Alan Jay had Boom Boom Buja with three hits, a home run from Jim Radciff. Ken Ferrano banged out three hits.

The other game had Reflection overwhelming VFW 4300 by a score of 17-9.

Reflection was led by Jim Kahn's four hits, Greg Ramos and Bill Kelsey added three hits and the winning hurler was Dick Osterich.

VFW 4300 had Don Dobbert, John Miller, Jesse Hathaway and Roy Oke had two hits apiece.

70s softball league

The 70s softball league played on Tuesday and Buttonwood Bay played its best game in three years by beating the Silent Salesmen 17-4.

Fred Richardson and Moose Mosinnete led the way with four hits and six players had multi-hit games, while Don Day, JC Brown, Dale Demar, Ken Crandell and Harry Bell had two hits each.

Ken Filapulo had a walk and a hit to his credit.

Royal Palms lost to Highland Ridge by the score of 10-9 in a squeaker.

Highland Ridge was led by Doug Hammond's five hits, Don Goodman, Bill Todd and Doran Quigg added three hits for the winners.

Royal Palms was paced by Bob Flodine and Dick Osterich with three hits each, Jim Hensley added two hits.

The KFC team went into first place by upending the VFW 4300 team 16-10

KFC's attack was led by Norm Grubb, Ron Lewis and Jose Torres with three hits each.

Winning pitcher was Rudy Pribble and Jerry Kaufman and Don Larvirie had three hits each.

Bob Fox added a pair of hits.

VFW 4300 had Don Cunningham with three hits and Andy Timmermanis with two hits.

Thursday's games where postponed due to rain and will be made up at a later date
