LARGO, Fla. (AP) — A public memorial and funeral services for the late U.S. Rep. C.W. Bill Young have been scheduled.
Young died Friday at age 82, one week after announcing from his hospital bed at Walter Reed Medical Center in Maryland that he would not seek a 23rd term in Congress.
Young's body was flown back to Florida on Monday.
On Wednesday, public visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. at Bill Young Armed Forces Reserve Center in Pinellas Park.
On Thursday, the public funeral will be held at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Indian Rocks in Largo. A private burial will follow.
Young was the longest-serving Republican in Congress. He was elected to the House in 1970.
