How about a health care sing-a-long?

(With apologies to Rogers and Hammerstein)

The national debate over healthcare reform has become such a circus it makes me want to cry, or shout, or lash out and hit someone. When I feel this kind of angry frustration, there are only two ways I can deal with it.
1. Launch into some task that's such hard work I have no energy left for anger, or
2. Sing a feel-good song at the top of my lungs.

Working that hard doesn't sound very appealing today, so I tried singing. Here's what came out, and boy did it feel good! (to the tune of "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?").

All together now ...
How do you solve a problem li-ike Health care?
How do you set its price and pin it down?
How do you find a word that means Health care?
A pain-in-the-neck, a total run around.

Many a thing Obama wants included.
Many a thing the Senate hadn't planned.
But how can they sit and say
That we won't have to pay?
How can they pass a bill the people panned?
Oh, how do you solve a problem li-ike Healthcare?
How do you stop a railroad job in hand?

How do you solve a problem li-ike Healthcare?
How do you make the Congress work as one?
How do you put both parties in one bucket?
Would anyone survive if it were done?

Dems want freebies handed out like candy.
GOP says, "Wait! Who's going to pay?"
Our seniors need a break
And Medicare's at stake.
The docs are getting sued now every day.
Oh, how do you solve a problem li-ike Healthcare?
How do you make it all just go away?

How do you solve a problem li-ike Healthcare?
How do you list what's covered and what's not?
How do you get insurers to cut prices?
They'd rather let the patients sit and rot.

What's hidden in that massive bill re-drafted?
Whose pockets are they planning now to line?
What illness overlooked?
What tests cannot be booked?
What surgery refused? Hope it's not mine.
Oh, how do you solve a problem li-ike Healthcare?
Maybe you serve some cheese beside that whine.

How do you solve a problem li-ike Healthcare?
How do you find the cash to make it work?
How do you cover everyone who needs it?
Especially those without a job to shirk.

Where do you find some people with deep pockets?
People who'll step up and understand.
Maybe all we need
Is Congress in the lead
Putting their own families in the plan.
Oh, how do you solve a problem li-ike Healthcare?
How do you trash this bill and start again?
