Man arrested in connection to Dwayne Council homicide

AVON PARK - A local man was arrested today in connection with the shooting death of Dwayne Council.

Javon Douryan Moses, 19, 448 W. Perry St., turned himself into the Highlands County Jail because of an arrest warrant issued for tampering with physical evidence in the Council homicide investigation, according to a Highlands County Sheriff's Office press release. He was arrested at 1:29 p.m. Friday.

Based on information gathered by Highlands County Sheriff's Office detectives an arrest warrant was issued, the release stated. While detectives were actively attempting to locate Moses, he turned himself in to the county jail.
