Mother’s Day 5K draws well

Mike Quigley and Allie Mann won top honors as top male and top female finishers in the second annual Heartland Triathlon Motherís Day 5K at Highlands Hammock State Park. Quigley finished the race in a time of 18:41, while Mann crossed the finish line in 23:43. Final results showed 95 participants crossing the finish line.

On the male side, Lukas High won the 14-and-under division and placed second overall with a time of 19:42, while Michael Divietro won the 15 to 19 age group in 26:50. Cory Curtis placed first in the 25 to 29 group in 29:20.

Jeremy Vincent was first in the 30 to 34 class in 27:45, Jacob McClelland placed first in the 35 to 39 class in 24:10 and Clay Lucero placed first in the 40 to 44 class in 26:07.

Lawrence Luepschen was first in the 50 to 54 class with a time of 24:15, Tom West placed first in the 60 to 64 class with a mark of 51:58 and Richard Ruckerís time of 28:24 was best in the 65 to 69 class.

Dale Bargar was first in the 70 to 74 class with a time of 36:11 and Philmore Holman placed first in the 75 to 79 class with a time of 49:37.

On the female side, Savannah Oldfield placed first in the 14-and-under class with a time of 24:18, while Whitney Lee was first in the 20 to 24 class in 24:19. Samantha Moore placed first in the 25 to 29 age group with a time of 29:39.

Kara Casey placed first in the 30 to 34 class in 25:28, Marlene Brantley placed first in the 35 to 39 class in 28:13 and Jennifer Canevari was first in the 40 to 44 group with a time of 36:44.

Marci Burnett placed first in the 45 to 49 class in 31:57, Jackie McKee placed first in the 50 to 54 class in 44:47 and Debbie Webber placed first in the 55 to 59 class in 30:43.

Linda Casey placed first in the 60 to 64 class in 33:35 and Lois Hotchkiss placed first in the 70 to 74 group with a time of 33:17.

Next on the local running slate is the Greater Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce 5K-10K on Saturday.

The annual Dirty Dozen will take place on Saturday, May 25, at the Avon Park Armory.

Also taking place on May 25 is the annual Carillon Classic 5K Run and Walk on at Bok Tower Gardens.
