Mr. McFarling was a resident of Springlake and Indianapolis, Ind. where he was the founder of McFarling Foods.
McFarling was an avid golfer and his passion was to start a program that would support junior golf in these two communities.
Each year since 2007, there has been a winter tournament in Springlake and a summer event in Indianapolis. All of the proceeds benefit junior golfers in those two areas.
The foundation also promotes and funds a summer golf clinic at Springlake for 6 to 12 years old children.
Again in 2014, the McFarling Foundation will fund and sponsor a two-day Highland's County Junior Tournament with the assistance of Andy Kesling, Director of the Sertoma Junior Golf Tour and Charley Riley, PGA Professional from SpringLake Golf Resort.
The tournament will be held in June on both courses at the Springlake Golf Resort.
