Champions Elite Pancake Breakfast

— Champions Elite will hold a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday at theRotary Club in Avon Park. Cost is $5 and includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice, or coffee. VFW Post 4300 Golf Tourney

— The VFW Post 4300 will hold a golf tournament on Aug. 16 at Harder Hall. The four-person scramble begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost is $50 per player and registration is open to the public. Fee includes on-course refreshments and a post-tournament meal. Choices “Golf Fore Life”

­— Choices Pregnancy Care Centers will hold its 10th annual golf tournament at the Sebring Municipal Golf Course on Saturday. The four-person scramble begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Cost is $60 per person and fee includes golf, one mulligan, one raffle ticket, cart, lunch, and prizes. SFSC/SHS summer baseball camp

— South Florida State College and Sebring High School will hold a summer baseball camp from Monday-Thursday at Firemen’s Field. Camp is open to youngsters aged 5-13 and costs $80 for the week. Bowling Exhibition

— The Heartland Bowling Center will host the Showdown for the Tata’s Bowling Exhibition on Sunday at noon. The event will feature PBA Hall of Fame member Randy Pedersen vs. Heartland Bowl Hero Vernon Peterson. All proceeds will be donated to the Beverly J. Wright Memorial Fund. The Highlands Eagles Wrestling Club is looking to take an elite group of young men to a national tournament at the Dixney Wide World of Sports Complex. The tournament will be from June 26 to July 1 and costs range from $2,500-3,000. The club is looking to do yard work or labor in return for a donation to the team. Contact coach Miller at 835-1787 or coach Germaine at 381-4120 for more information.

Summer Tennis Camp

— The Highlands County Tennis Association summer tennis camp is underway and runs through Aug. 2. Classes will be held Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. All levels of skill are welcomed to attend (ages 5-18). Cost is $100 per week. For more information, contact Michael Reed at 414-1966.

LPAA sports camp

— The Lake Placid Athletic Association’s athletic day camp is underway and runs through Aug. 2. Cost is $10 per day for each camper, but discounts are available. — The Mary Toney Sports Foundation will hold its 2014 Heartland Football Camp at the Highlands County Sports Complex on June 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $20 per camper and includes instruction, insurance, lunch, T-shirt, awards, and gifts.
