Freelance opening

Highlands Today is looking for a freelance writer/photographer to help cover high school sports. The successful applicant will have the appropriate camera equipment, in-depth knowledge of a wide range of sports, and the ability to produce clean and concise copy on deadline. Orange and Blue Color 5k

ZOLFO SPRINGS - The inaugural Orange and Blue Color Run/Walk 5k will be Saturday at 9 a.m. at Pioneer Park. Cost is $35 per person and $100 for teams. Lake Placid Youth Baseball

LAKE PLACID - Sign up for Lake Placid Youth Baseball's second season is now open. The draft is Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Lake June Ball Fields. Spring Golf Classic

SEBRING - The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce will hold its Spring Golf Classic on Saturday at Sun 'N Lake Golf Club. The four-person scramble begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $60 per player or $225 per team. Entry fee includes golf, cart, on-course refreshments, and lunch. Project Graduation Golf Tourney

SEBRING - Sebring High School's Project Graduation will hold a golf tournament Saturday at Golf Hammock Country Club. Cost is $65 per player or $240 per team. Registration is day of at 7 a.m. and the tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Deadline to enter is March 31. Entry fee includes greens fee, cart, and lunch. A raffle will be held as well. H.O.P.E. Basketball Tourney

SEBRING - The Mary Toney H.O.P.E. Foundation will hold its fourth annual Community 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament April 18 in Blue Streaks Gym at Sebring High School. Games start at 8:30 a.m. and run to 4 p.m. Cost is $5 per player. Registration deadline is April 16. The tournament will have male and female age brackets, which range from 7-19 years old. NU-HOPE Golf Tournament

AVON PARK - NU-HOPE Elder Care Services will hold the Sandy Foster Memorial Golf Tournament April 19 at Pinecrest Golf Club. The two-person scramble opens with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $65 per person or $130 per team. Registration is at 7:30 day of. An awards luncheon will follow the event. Pickelball tournament

SEBRING - Sun 'n Lake Golf Club will host a pickleball doubles tournament April 16. Cost is $15 per person for club members and $20 for non-members. Wings of Faith Golf Tourney

SEBRING - Wings of Faith Christian Worship Center will hold its fourth annual scholarship golf tournament April 26 at Sun 'n Lake Golf Club. Registration for the four-person scramble is at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8. Cost is $65 and fee includes greens fee, golf cart, and lunch. Junior Tennis Spring Camp

SEBRING - Junior Tennis Spring Camp for kids runs through May 2. All classes will be held at the Thakkar Tennis Center at The Country Club of Sebring. USPTA Certified Pro Horace Watkis will instruct all age levels. The cost for Tiny Tots (4-6) is $75 and classes will be held on Tuesdays from 3:15-4 p.m. The cost for Future Champs (6-12) is $90 and classes will be held Monday-Friday from 4-5 p.m. The cost for Pre-Tournament Academy (12-18) is $120 and will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5-6:30 p.m. All prices reflect eight weeks of classes. Dash and Dye 5k

SEBRING - Sun 'n Lake Recreation Complex will host a 5k Color Run and Easter Festival April 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 5k starts at 9 a.m., and Cost is $15 for adults and $12 for children. Easter Festival admission is $2 per person. There will be separate egg hunts for kids aged 1-12. For more information, call 382-2196.

Sebring Takedown Club

SEBRING - The Sebring Takedown Club will hold wrestling practice at Sebring High School in room 301 every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per person and covers the entire year. Summer Golf League

SEBRING - The Country Club of Sebring will host a summer golf league. Play is every Wednesday and features two-person teams. Cost is $20 per person and includes nine holes of golf, cart, prizes, and a $7 voucher to the restaurant. A team fee is also available at $50. There are men's and women's divisions and play begins with a shotgun start at 5:30 p.m. Perks of playing in the league include and option to play golf any time at the Club for only $20 during the summer. Tuesday Night Golf

SEBRING - Sun 'N Lake Golf Club will host its annual Tuesday night summer golf league starting April 22. The league features two-person teams that play each Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per player and registration is due by April 20. Space is limited. Cost per week is $13. Additional skins game, points game, and closest to the pin contests are available as well. For more information, call 385-4830 ext. 1.

Sebring Golf Club Summer League

SEBRING - The Sebring Golf Club will hold a Thursday night summer golf league starting April 24 through Aug. 7. Each round begins with a shotgun start at 5:30 p.m. Pick a partner and sign up by April 14 at the Pro Shop. There is a one time registration fee of $30. Cost per round will be $15 per player. Overall league winners and runner up will receive prize pool payout. For more information, contact the golf club at 314-5919.
