Lake Placid Youth Baseball

LAKE PLACID - Sign up for Lake Placid Youth Baseball's second season is now open. Draft day will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lake June Ball Fields. There are four age divisions available. For baseball, there are two age groups of 11-12 and 13-14, while softball is 10-12 and 13-15. Cost is $75 per player. Registration is due by March 27. Sun, Sand & Hoops

LAKE PLACID - STR8UP Youth Ministry presents Family Sports Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event features basketball and volleyball, as well as the chance to meet former NFL and NBA athletes. Cost to preregisters is $10 and cost on day of is $15. For more information, call 699-1480.

Cornhole Tournament

LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Sr. FFA will hold its third annual Cornhole Tournament on Friday at Roger Scarborough Memorial Field. Habitat for Humanity 5k

SEBRING - Highlands County's Habitat for Humanity will hold the Home Run for Habitat 5k Run/Walk Saturday at 8 a.m. at Highlands Hammock State Park. Early registration fee is $15 through March 22 and $20 until race day. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and entry free includes T-shirt. Call 385-7156 for more information.

LAKE PLACID - Lake Placid High School will hold a golf tournament Saturday at Placid Lakes Country Club. The four-person scramble begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Registration is at 7 on the morning of, and cost is $60 per person and $240 per team. SEBRING - The Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce will hold its Spring Golf Classic on April 5 at Sun 'N Lake Golf Club. The four-person scramble begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $60 per player or $225 per team. Entry fee includes golf, cart, on-course refreshments, and lunch. H.O.P.E. Basketball Tourney

SEBRING - The Mary Toney H.O.P.E. Foundation will hold its fourth annual Community 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament April 5 in Blue Streaks Gym at Sebring High School. Games start at 8:30 a.m. and run to 4 p.m. Cost is $5 per player. Registration deadline is April 3. The tournament will have male and female age brackets, which range from 7-19 years old. Sebring Takedown Club

SEBRING - The Sebring Takedown Club will hold wrestling practice at Sebring High School in room 301 every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30 p.m. Cost is $30 per person and covers the entire year. Summer Golf League

SEBRING - The Country Club of Sebring will host a summer golf league. Play is every Wednesday and features two-person teams. Cost is $20 per person and includes nine holes of golf, cart, prizes, and a $7 voucher to the restaurant. A team fee is also available at $50. There are men's and women's divisions and play begins with a shotgun start at 5:30 p.m. Perks of playing in the league include and option to play golf any time at the Club for only $20 during the summer. Dash and Dye

SEBRING - Sun 'n Lake Recreation Complex will host a 5k Color Run and Easter Festival April 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 5k starts at 9 a.m., and Cost is $15 for adults and $12 for children. SEBRING - Sebring High School's Project Graduation will hold a golf tournament April 5 at Golf Hammock Country Club. Cost is $65 per player or $240 per team. AVON PARK - Nu-HOPE Elder Care Services will hold the Sandy Foster Memorial Golf Tournament April 19 at Pinecrest Golf Club. Junior Tennis Spring Camp

SEBRING - Junior Tennis Spring Camp for kids runs through May 2. All classes will be held at the Thakkar Tennis Center at The Country Club of Sebring. USPTA Certified Pro Horace Watkis will instruct all age levels. The cost for Tiny Tots (4-6) is $75 and classes will be held on Tuesdays from 3:15-4 p.m. The cost for Future Champs (6-12) is $90 and classes will be held Monday-Friday from 4-5 p.m. The cost for Pre-Tournament Academy (12-18) is $120 and will be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5-6:30 p.m. All prices reflect eight weeks of classes.
