AVON PARK An Avon Park man was arrested March 28 after a woman told authorities that he threatened to show a video to her boyfriend, an arrest report released Tuesday states.

Elvin Rodriguez, 34, 1548 N. Delaware Ave., Avon Park, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and charged with burglary with assault or battery and video voyeurism.

The arrest came after the woman reported that Rodriguez, an acquaintance of less than six months, came to her door and told her he was going to show a video of her to her live-in boyfriend. The report did not say what was in the video, but stated the woman was in a location where she would have expected privacy as the video was shot.

When the woman told Rodriguez to leave, he forced his way into the house, the report said.

She said she grabbed his cell phone and threw it outside, resulting in Rodriguez grabbing her outside the doorway, pushing her to the ground and choking her, the report said.
