Woman accused of battery with a deer antler

AVON PARK — One would think that if a deer is dead, its antlers would no longer present a threat to anyone. But that wasn’t the case in one Avon Park household where authorities accuse a woman of using the antlers to attack her husband, according to a report released Tuesday.

Alisha Michele Wingate, 29, no street address given, Avon Park, was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Her husband told deputies that he and his wife “engaged in an argument pertaining to each other’s infidelities outside their marriage,” the report said.

As the argument escalated, Wingate said, his wife punctured his left inside forearm with the antler that was previously on the wall, the report said.
