Winners of photography exhibit announced

—On Friday, as part of the 2nd Friday Destination Downtown Sebring event, the Highlands Art League’s Highlands Museum of the Arts held an awards presentation and opening reception for its new In Focus photography exhibit.

It celebrates the original artwork of local photographers with nearly 50 photographs and will be on display until Sept. 19.

Best in Show winner was Kevin Main’s Black and White Canvas Oak Trees in the Mist.

Honorable mentions were Pamela Jessiman’s Orchid in Hand, Cindy Rose’s Yellow Shoes Egret and Caroline Maxcy’s untitled Polaroid group.

The exhibit features photographs from: Matthew Baker, Lorida; Melissa Curry, Lake Placid; Brian Gesner, Sebring; Sheri Grooms, Daytona Beach; Pamela Jessiman, Avon Park, Kevin Main, Sebring; Cindy Rose, Sebring and Caroline Maxcy of Sebring.

MoTA, which is located at the Allen Altvater Cultural Center in downtown Sebring, is open Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m.
