VPK graduates rhyme to the beat

Published:

—Spiders were climbing, dogs were wagging tails, boats were rowing and trains were whistling June 8 as The Learning Station Preschool presented “Rhyming to the Beat” as part of its VPK graduation program.

The 12 students, under the direction of Pam Spears, presented a collection of nursery rhymes and new versions of familiar children’s songs, complete with props and costumes.

“This is the third year the preschool has been open and has been a huge success,” Spears said.

She taught grades K-2 in the public school system for 30 years and retired in 2011. From there, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening her own preschool “to better prepare students for a successful transition into kindergarten.”
