— Walmart often advertises its rollbacks in prices, but two former Avon Park Walmart employees arrested Wednesday were accused of taking that to an illegal level.

Shikera Lashay Wilson, 23, 4072 18th St. S.E., Winter Haven, and Emma Ashley Allen, 23, 315 Woodham Ave., Frostproof, were arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office on warrants and charged with fraud. Allen also was charged with petit theft and Wilson was charged with grand theft.

Arrest reports said that Wilson, Allen and two other former employees not arrested Thursday, were accused of discounting prices for items bought by other employees, the report said. This occurred between December 2012 and Feb. 27, 2013, the report said.

The report said that while employees can match prices of items sold at other businesses, the discounts in these cases were beyond what Walmart allowed, the report said.

An investigation showed that during the time period in question, Wilson gave about $307 in discounts or price overrides to other employees, while the amount was $120 for Allen, authorities said.
