Two charged with stealing 15 firearms from Sebring home

Published:

SEBRING-An 18-year-old and a juvenile were charged with 15 counts of grand theft of a firearm after authorities say they broke into a Sebring home Friday.

Among the 15 guns, the homeowner also reported missing "numerous items" of jewelry, a news release from Highlands County Sheriff's Office adds.

Brandon Christopher Wiley, 18, and the 16-year-old, both of Sebring, also face one count of burglary, one count of grand theft and one count of dealing in stolen property. The juvenile, whose name Highlands Today is withholding because he is a minor, was also charged with violation of probation. Wiley is currently in the Highlands County Jail under no bond.

This case is still under investigation.

"Deputy Amanda Dettman who worked the original report stayed on the case with the help of several detectives over the weekend and recovered some of the firearms and jewelry," the news release adds.
