SEBRING -Highlands Little Theatre presents "The Gift of the Magi," an adaptation by Jon Jory of the O.Henry classic.
It is the story of Della (played by Bethany Finney) and Jim (Adam Meredith) and their attempts at pleasing each other with a very special Christmas gift. There are twists and turns along the way that make this a very different kind of Christmas for them.
It's a moving portrayal of love and giving during hard times, with merry carolers and a creative, family friendly take on the Christmas spirit. Henry's short stories are known for their wit, wordplay, warm characterization and clever twist endings.
Moriah, Daniel and Tracy Finney are making this play a family affair as Carolers with speaking roles.
Other carolers with speaking roles include: Ken Hall, Steven Lundey, Suzanne Schillfarth and Savannah St. John.
Adding their voices are, Julia Laframboise, Mark Reyes and Barbara Sherr. Accompanist is Ruthann Esseltine. "The Gift of the Magi" is being directed by newcomer Jillian Febres and veteran Sue McCollum.
