Authorities have arrested another suspect in relation to a series of business and restaurant robberies last year, according to an arrest report released Thursday.
Shaquille Avion O'Connor, 20, 2915 Mullet Ave., was arrested Wednesday by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with two counts of armed kidnapping and one count of armed robbery.
The arrest came several months after another suspect in the robbery, Christopher A. Kenon, told authorities that he and several other men had robbed the China Wok, 1577 U.S. 27 North, Avon Park, and that they got $175, a warrant affidavit said.
At the time, Kenon confessed to the robbery, the restaurant owners had not reported it, the report said.
Kenon told authorities that O'Connor drove him and other suspects to the restaurant. The owners told authorities that they voluntarily went into the restaurant freezer before the suspects left, the warrant affidavit said.
Kenon and two other men were arrested in connection with a home invasion robbery in January. He and two other men, who were not involved in the home invasion robbery, also have been arrested in connection with the robbery of Pizza Hut in Sebring.
As of press time, O'Connor remained in the Highlands County jail on $300,000 bond.
