Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra performing

AVON PARK - The Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the SFSC Theatre for the Performing Arts.

The orchestra will present a "Russian Romance," featuring the well-known works of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff.

Individual tickets are $30, $33 and $36 and are available for purchase at performances.southflorida.edu or at the SFSC Box Office, 784-7178.

Folk duo Tammerlin will showcase unique folk sound

AVON PARK - The acoustic folk and world music duo Tammerlin will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at the South Florida State College University Center Auditorium.

Founded in 1992 by Lee Hunter and Arvid Smith, Tammerlin's music is a little bit folk, pop, country and blues with some tasty world music flavorings.

In addition to the 22 years of touring and six CD releases, Hunter and Smith have collaborated in the studio with musicians Darol Anger, Joe Craven, Byron House and Longineu Parsons.

They've shared the stage with Doc Watson, Emmylou Harris, Alex DeGrassi, Del McCoury and many more.

Their innovative performances offer exceptional guitar playing, well-crafted original songs and traditional tunes pulled from the heart of American music.

YouTube sensation Tommy Johnson performing

AVON PARK - Tommy Johnson, the boogie-woogie piano-­playing YouTube sensation, will come to SFSC at 1:30 p.m. Feb.?11 in the Theatre for the Performing Arts.

Johnson is self-taught and started playing piano at the age of 4.

His piano videos have received more than 7??million YouTube views.

He has performed on cruise ships from Alaska to Hawaii and in the Caribbean.

He has appeared as a concert artist for Kimball, Yamaha, Technics, Hammond and Roland.

In 1980, Liberace hosted a World Keyboard Entertainer Search.

Johnson made it to the top four performers in the world and performed on stage at the Las Vegas Hilton.
