Published:

LAKE WALES - A Sebring man and woman were injured Sunday evening after they were ejected from a motorcycle while trying to avoid hitting a vehicle in front of them that was involved in an accident with another vehicle, according to a press release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Albert Hernandez, 56 and Lynette P. Fulton, 52, both of 2351 Lakeview Drive, Unit 102, Sebring, were transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, the press release said. Information regarding their conditions was not readily available.

The chain of events leading to the accident began when Phillip A. McKinney, 51, of Lake Wales, pulled out of a business and his vehicle was struck by a vehicle driven by John A. Hensley, 44, 3224 Bentley Ave., Sebring, the report said.

Hernandez tried to avoid hitting Hensley's vehicle, but in doing so caused his motorcycle to flip on its side and then slide about 150 feet, the report said.

No criminal charges were expected in connection with the accident, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.
