AVON PARK -

An Avon Park man on probation was incarcerated again Thursday after a search of his residence discovered the presence of marijuana, a weapon and other items, an arrest report said.

Darrius Demengus Jenkins, 36, 1018 S. Delaney Ave., Avon Park, was arrested May 9 by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and charged with violation of probation, possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon, three counts dealing in stolen property, possession of 20 grams or less of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers from the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Department of Corrections searched Jenkins’ residence and found a bag of marijuana, a black powder handgun and evidence that Jenkins was dealing in stolen property involving a computer, headphones and a class ring.

As of press time, Jenkins remained in the Highlands County jail without bond being set on the violation of probation charge.
