Public asked to help ID suspect

The Highlands County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public in identifying a person seen inside a business at the time of a burglary, according to a press release.

The burglary occurred at the AT&T store, 1310 U.S. 27 North, Sebring, on March 20.

Video surveillance at the time of the burglary revealed a man of average weight and height with an Afro-style haircut and having small sideburns and a short beard, according to a sheriff’s office press release.

Anyone knowing the identity of the individual should call criminal investigation unit of the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office at (863) 402-7250 or Det. Bret Hinkle at (863) 402-7252. They can also call Heartland Crime Stoppers at (800) 226-8477 and remain anonymous. Callers may be eligible for a reward.
