Looking for something to do this weekend? Here is what is happening around the county.

TODAY

Canine & Wine Walk set for Friday

— Bring your four- and two-legged friends to downtown Sebring 5-8 p.m. tonight for some dog-gone summer fun, as Destination Downtown Sebring celebrates the Dog Daze of Summer with its Canine & Wine Walk, complete with music, art, shopping, dining and strolling around.

More than 20 participating galleries and stores will feature one-of-a-kind art, home decor, jewelry and gifts available for purchase, as well as entertainment, exhibits and special drawings.

The event will also feature pet vendors, demonstrations, pet portraits from 4-7 p.m. at Circle Theatre, Wells Fargo Free Friday at the Children’s Museum of the Highlands and music, as well as shopping and savings at over 20 downtown boutiques, galleries, stores and eateries.

Gallery to celebrate art instructors

— As part of the Friday Destination Downtown Sebring event, the Highlands Art League’s Yellow House Gallery and Gift Shop will hold a reception 5-8 p.m. today celebrating the original artwork of the art league’s art instructors, which will be on display during the month of June.

Mediums include acrylic, watercolor, photography and pottery. Highlands Art Leauge art instructors exhibiting include Darian Dumont, Megan Ekenstedt, Alice Hansen, Kristy Harris, Caroline Maxcy and Tori Roman.

SATURDAY

Fly-in, drive-in pancake breakfast

— A pancake breakfast will be hosted 8-11 a.m. Saturday by Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1240, where funds will go to youth aviation education.

Breakfast will be held in the EAA 1240 Aviation Development Center located on the south flight line at Sebring Regional Airport. Follow the signs through gate number 24.

Heartland Triathlon kicks off

— Come cheer on athletes Saturday and Sunday as they swim, ride and run the Heartland Triathlon in downtown Sebring.

The kids’ event will kick off at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at City Pier Beach.

Adults will compete starting at 7 a.m. Sunday at City Pier Beach.

Community Sidewalk Sale

— The Downtown Community Sidewalk Sale will be held 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in downtown Sebring.

Theatre showing ‘Grease’

— Circle Theatre will host a special showing of “Grease” at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $5 and available at the door or at www.circletheatreevents.com.

— The Saturday Night Cruise will take place 5-8 p.m. at the Circle.

SUNDAY

Moose plan Father’s Day dinner, entertainment

— The Women of the Moose at Moose Lodge 2259 on U.S. 98 will celebrate fathers June 15 with a classic plated dinner of Mom’s Homemade Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, southern style string beans, side salad and selection of homemade cakes and pastries, like apple cobbler, strawberry shortcake,walnut brownies and more.

Men will eat free and women pay $7. Children 10 and under will eat for $3.50. Dinner will be served 4-6 p.m. Frank E and friends will entertain 5-8 p.m.

Qualified members are welcome to bring their family and friends.
