Art show planned alongside Wine Walk
SEBRING - An art show will be held at 5 p.m. tonight at Lucid Heart Gallery, 131 N. Ridgewood Drive, curated just in time for the Valentine's Day Wine Walk in downtown Sebring.
This invitational exhibit features the work of Jeremy Berkson, Judy Graham, Jouette Koning, Fred Leavitt, Patty Lloyd, Stefanie Nellett, Melissa Platt, Peter Powell Roberts, Mark Stanford and Tony Tapia. It includes photography, sculpture, oil paintings, jewelry, digital art, mixed media and more.

Chalk artist drawing at the Circle
SEBRING - Chalk artist Francois Bergeron of Quebec, Canada will draw his 45-minute presentation of "The Masterpiece (Unconditional Love)" at 6:30 p.m. tonight and Saturday on the Circle downtown.
The audience will have the chance to look into the time of Jesus's life. There is no charge and he will do smaller requested projects at the Circle 3-6 p.m. both days.
He will also present "The Masterpiece" at 10:30 a.m. worship Sunday at The Church of the Way, 1005 N. Ridgewood Drive.
Masons hosting fish fry
AVON PARK - The Avon Park Masonic Lodge, 935 W. Main St., will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry dinner 4-7 p.m. tonight.

Moose plan Valentine's dinner, dance
SEBRING - A Valentine's Day dinner-dance will be hosted 6-9 p.m. Friday by Moose Lodge #2259 on U.S. 98.
Dinner will be chicken breast with sausage and sage dressing, vegetable medley, salad, roll and cheesecake. LOOM officers will serve dinner in black tie. Entertainment will Todd Allen's Elvis Presley Revue in Black Leather.
Reservation tickets are $12 each with the opportunity to choose your seating. The WOTM will hold a fundraiser with net profits going to MooseHeart, a residential school in Illinois for children in need, and MooseHaven, a residential community in Florida for seniors who have succumbed to hard times. It is a wide-brimmed sun hat covered in Florida lottery scratch-off tickets that will be raffled off. Tickets will be sold through Valentine's Day at six for $5. There will also be a 50/50 drawing.

Valentine's dance featuring The Skylarks
SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club will host the music of The Skylarks 10-piece dance band for its annual Valentine's dance 7-9:30 p.m. tonight at the Highlands Social Center, 3400 Sebring Parkway.

Model airplane club sets FunFly
LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Aeromodelers model airplane flying club will host FunFly on Saturday at their flying field, located west of U.S. 27 on Placid Lakes Boulevard, one mile north of S.R 70.
Gates open at 10 a.m. and airplanes are scheduled to fly throughout the day.
At FunFly, you'll have the opportunity to try hands-on flying, copiloting with a club instructor. There will be aerobatics, flying demonstrations of many types of aircraft, static model airplane displays and presentations on how radio control airplanes work. Club members will answer questions.
The event is free, but a parking donation of $5 per car is appreciated.
Food and drinks will be available. There will be free door prizes.

Strawberry Festival at Henscratch
LAKE PLACID - The Second Annual Strawberry Festival will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Henscratch Farms.
There will be winery tours, wine by the glass or bottle, hot dogs and barbecue lunch, and the Ice Cream Shack will serve everything strawberry, including shakes.
The Fiddle Pickin' Band will provide entertainment.

AVON PARK - The Avon Park Lakes Association, 2714 Nautilus Drive, will host a pancake breakfast 7:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday.

SEBRING - Members of the Sebring Lions Club will hold a yard sale 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the fenced-in property next to the Senior Center on Sebring Parkway.

Sweet Adelines scholarship fundraiser show
AVON PARK - The Sweet Adelines' Broadway Bound Show, a major scholarship fundraiser, will feature guest quartets Good Blend and Sassy at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the SFSC Theatre for the Performing Arts.
Good Blend is a male four-part vocal a capella harmony group established in March 2005. These long-time friends and fellow musicians share 50-plus years of combined experience entertaining audiences. They have enjoyed numerous performances in a wide range of events where their variety and professionalism have constantly amazed, humored and delighted audiences throughout Florida.
Sassy are winners of 2012 Regional Competition. These four gals are not only beautiful, but possess beautiful harmony.

American Legion hosting Elvis Wade show
LAKE PLACID - American Legion Post 25 will host a Valentine's dinner and dance with Elvis impersonator Elvis Wade on Saturday.
Dinner will be served 5-6 p.m. with the show 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Wade has performed with 20 national symphonies including Atlanta, Phoenix, Louisville and the Florida Orchestra.

Jimmy Smith appearing at LP Elks Lodge
LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Elks Lodge will host "Remembering the Legends," starring Jimmy Smith from Pigeon Forge, TN, at 4 p.m. Feb. 15. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
Smith will take you back to earlier times as he sings classic songs by Roy Orbison, Conway Twitty, Johnny Cash, Tom Jones and more. The second half of the program will be dedicated to Reflections of Elvis.

Annual Germanfest on tap
SEBRING - The annual Germanfest will be held 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sebring Recreation Club, 333 Pomegranate Ave.
It is open to the public. The Bavarian Wunderkinds will provide polka, waltzes and marches, along with big band favorites, '50s and '60s music from 1-3 p.m.
The menu will consist of brats, sauerkraut, red cabbage, German potato salad, dessert and beverage. Suggested cost is a donation of $7. A love offering will be taken for the band.
