Concerts at Under The Oaks Opry

SEBRING - Under The Oaks Opry will host a special Christmas show and supper tonight at 5 p.m., including turkey, ham, potatoes and more.

The music, at 7 p.m., will include country, bluegrass, gospel and Christmas tunes.

Music will also be performed at 2 p.m. Sunday and during the New Year's Eve party starting at 7 p.m. Dec. 31.

This is an indoor family-friendly venue located at 3501 Beck Ave. No alcohol is permitted.

Trio of Hands in Praise concerts

AVON PARK - Hands in Praise will perform at 7 p.m. tonight at the Filipino-American International SDA Church in Avon Park, at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lake Placid SDA Church and at 5 p.m. Saturday at Avon Park SDA Church.

Hands in Praise is a unique group of young pianists from eastern and Midwestern states. All have received classical training from Casmelyn Quicoy, but they also play music from traditional, gospel and jazz genres.

While the musical style may be classical, in this highly technological era, some of these pianists are taught online. Many of them have participated in and won both national and international piano competitions.

Admission is free, but a love offering will be taken.

Line dance slated at Tanglewood

SEBRING - The Tanglewood line dancers will host a line dance 6-9 p.m. tonight in the Clubhouse.

Admission is $2. Residents and guests are welcome.

Dance club hosting Buddy Canova

SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club will host the music of Buddy Canova 7-9:30 p.m. tonight at the Highlands Social Center, 3400 Sebring Parkway.

Snacks and sandwiches will be available; BYOB. Admission is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers. Dress smart, casual. Everyone is welcome, including singles.

Old-fashioned square dance at RV park

LAKE PLACID - The Sunshine Hoe-Downers will host an old-fashioned square dance at 7 p.m. Saturday at Sunshine RV Park, near the intersection of U.S. 27 S. and S.R. 70 E.

Earl J. Welch will be the caller.

Dress is casual and donations are appreciated.
