Run to the Heartland gears up

SEBRING - The Heartland Riders' Association's 10th annual Run to the Heartland will be held today through Sunday.

Florida's largest family-friendly motorcycle rally will include live music, vendors, demonstrations, poker run, Born to Ride Bike Show, Sunday morning worship by CMA and much more.

Youth ministry yard sale

LAKE PLACID - STR8 UP Youth Ministry will hold a fundraiser yard sale will be held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and Saturday at 113 S. Main Ave.

Proceeds will benefit special projects and summer programs.

Line dance benefitting food bank

SEBRING - The Tanglewood Line Dancers will host a line dance 6-9 p.m. tonight in the clubhouse.

All proceeds will benefit the local food bank. Admission is $2 and all residents and guests are welcome.

Country band performing in Placid Lakes

LAKE PLACID - The Classic Country Music Band will play 6:30-9 p.m. tonight at 2010 Placid Lakes Blvd.

Fly in, drive in breakfast

AVON PARK - The Avon Park Fly-in, Drive-in breakfast will be held 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, 1320 C.R. 64 E. (Main Street), a half mile past Avon Park High School.

The menu includes pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage and homemade breakfast casseroles.

Cost is $5 for one serving. Breakfasts will be held every first Saturday through April 5.

Legion Riders hosting breakfast, lunch

LAKE PLACID - The American Legion Post 25 Lake Placid Auxiliary and Riders will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Burgers will go on the grill from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The event is open to everyone.

Don West, Silver Eagle band playing

SEBRING - Don West and the Silver Eagle Band will perform live country music 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Highlands Social Center, 3400 Sebring Parkway.

Concert to benefit children cancer patients

SEBRING - Lindsey's Wish will present a concert by Hunter Smith of Jill's Cashbox Band, as well as Justin Grimes and Friends at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Highlands Today Center near Fireman's Field. Tickets are $15 and will be available at the door. Proceeds from Lindsey's Wish benefit children in Highlands County who are battling cancer.

SEBRING - Johnson and Johnson Wood Products Inc. will hold a Bird Expo 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 5948 S.R. 66, rain or shine.

DeMolay hosting spaghetti lunch

SEBRING - The young men of DeMolay will host a spaghetti luncheon 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Sebring Masonic Lodge, 1809 Home Ave.

The menu includes salad, spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, dessert and beverage for a $7 donation.

Takeout is available and the public is welcome.
