Pedestrian in critical condition

LAKE PLACID - A pedestrian who was hit by a truck on Thanksgiving Day in Lake Placid is hospitalized in critical condition, the Lake Placid Police Department reports.

The pedestrian, who was walking near the intersection of South Main Avenue and Payson Street, was struck by an oncoming truck, according the police department. The accident occurred around 6 p.m.

The pedestrian, an unidentified male, was taken to Florida Hospital Lake Placid and then transported to another facility due to the extent of his injuries.

The man was in stable, but critical condition, Friday morning, according to the police department. Officers are working to identify the man and notify any possible family members.
