A marijuana stash house was discovered recently in Lake Placid by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit.
As members of the unit served a search warrant Tuesday at the residence at 125 Palm Beach St., investigators found evidence of a marijuana drying operation, according to a Highlands County Sheriff's Office press release.
During the investigation more than 68 pounds of marijuana was seized along with other paraphernalia, the release shows.
A resident of the house, Irelio Carmona, 59, was charged with marijuana possession with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver; possession and/or use of drug equipment; marijuana production; and marijuana trafficking in excess of 25 pounds or 300 plants or more.
He was being held Thursday in the Highlands County Jail with bond set at $52,500.
The investigation is open and ongoing, the release states.
