SEBRING —A Sebring man was arrested after deputies found guns and television remote controls believed to be stolen from a residence, according to a report released this week.
Wayne Anderson Hutchins, 49, 204 Quail Ave., Sebring, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and charged with burglary while armed, third-degree grand theft, grand theft of a firearm and dealing in stolen property.
The victim of the burglary had reported more than $10,000 worth of items were stolen from his home.
He reported that burglars stole eight firearms, four televisions and miscellaneous jewelry, the report said.
A co-defendant gave Hutchins $20 worth of methamphetamine, apparently for participating in the burglary, the report said.
Hutchins told authorities that someone else initiated the burglary and that he thought it was wrong, the report said.
Despite feeling that way, Hutchins never tried to convince the other man not to commit the burglary or contact authorities.
