AVON PARK — Surveillance video led to the arrest of a suspect in the burglary of an Avon Park business on June 9, according to a report released Wednesday.

Kyle Lewis Alan Looney, 19, 142 E. Pine St., Avon Park, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and charged with burglary of a structure, three counts of burglary of a vehicle, second-degree grand theft, one count of first-degree petit theft and two counts of second-degree petit theft.

Glades and Grove Equipment, 305 County Road 17A, Avon Park, had reported that a suspect broke into the business, burglarized three company vehicles and then stole radiators from a recycling bin, the report said.

A satellite radio and a tool set were among the items stolen from the vehicle, the report said.

Looney, who appeared in surveillance video, was identified because of previous law enforcement contact, the report said.

At least some of the property was sold to a scrap metal dealer, the report said.
