Juvenile accused of robbing gas station

— A juvenile has been arrested in connection with a robbery of a gas station clerk Wednesday evening, according to a press release.

Jalen Dandre Williams, 17, 23 N. Prospect Ave., Avon Park, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office and charged with robbery without a firearm, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and violation of probation.

The robbery occurred around 10 p.m. at the Shell gas station, 998 U.S. 27, Avon Park, and the clerk received minor injuries, the press release said.

Following the robbery, deputies saw video of it and identified the perpetrator as Williams, the release said.

Subsequently, they went to his address and arrested him.

The investigation is continuing.
