VERO BEACH - The jury in the Jeff Carlson trial came back at 8:15 p.m. with a verdict of guilty of two lesser included offenses.
Carlson, a former county commissioner, was on trial for his role in a deadly boating accident.
He was found guilty of misdemeanor boating under the influence, which is a lesser offense than boating manslaughter, a felony.
The jury also decided Carlson was guilty of navigational violations, another misdemeanor.
The maximum punishment for BUI is six months in jail; the maximum for navigational violations is two months.
Sentencing will be held in October.
