Ten years ago this summer, the Sunshine State suffered through a damaging hurricane season. In a span of about 45 days in August and September 2004, four hurricanes made direct hits on the state, three of which directly impacted Highlands County: Charley, Frances and Jeanne.
Highlands Today is putting together a retrospective edition to observe this anniversary. We want to remember how strong we became then and how strong we still are, so we are asking readers to email their memories and photos to be shared in our print publication. Please email them to email@example.com with ‘hurricane retrospective’ in the subject field.
