Last week Heartland Idol judges chose five finalists for the junior category finale, which rolls at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Highlands County YMCA basketball court.
Kalie Christian, Ashton Dennison, Moriah Finney, Bella Marrero and Caitlin Sinness will have to show judges why they deserve to win.
Judges will pick first-, second- and third-place winners among the juniors and hear adult contestants audition for the first qualifier.
The second adult qualifier is set for March 7, which also will feature the teen finale.
The adult semi finals will be held March 14 and March 21. Senior Idol will also be held March 21.
The adult finale begins at 6 p.m. March 30. All the shows are at the Y.
Organizer Diane Walker said Monday evening that they had about eight applications for the adult Idol. The first 20 registrants will perform.
Applications are available at Keiber Law Office in downtown Sebring, 129 S. Commerce Ave. Registrations also will be taken between 4 and 5:30 p.m. at the Y before the shows start.
The cost is $10 or $5 for a second try. Senior Idol contestants pay only $5.
"We are still also a few sponsorships short," she added. Those looking for sponsorship opportunities can contact her.
