WAUCHULA - The Florida Highway Patrol is requesting information about a pickup truck involved in an accident with an ambulance in Hardee County.

At 5:21 p.m. Friday, according to a report by Trooper A. Franks, a white pickup truck was eastbound on State Road 64 at Oak Street.

The ambulance, a 2005 Freightliner, was westbound, driven by Javier Fernandez, 36, of Lakeland. Robert Cole, 35, of Lake Placid, was a passenger.

"Both vehicles were in a narrow portion of SR 64 due to road construction," Franks wrote.

That's when their driver's side mirrors collided. No one was injured.

"If any information is known regarding the identity or location of Vehicle 1 or Driver 1, please contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 239-938-1800," Franks asked.
