HARDEE COUNTY -

A 23-year-old man from Wauchula died in the early hours of Sunday after he lost control of the F-250 Ford truck he was driving and was ejected from it, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Justin G. Painter was going west on State Road 66, approaching Oak Hill Ranch in Hardee County, a FHP report states, when he lost control of the truck, veered off the north shoulder, and tried to get back on the road.

Painter reportedly over-corrected, and the truck began to rotate counter-clockwise, traveling across the road, over to the south shoulder, the report states.

The truck overturned three times, ejecting Painter before coming to a stop in a field on the south shoulder of State Road 66, the report adds.

The accident happened at 12:55 a.m. and Painter was not wearing a seatbelt, the report adds.
