SEBRING — In an effort to provide hands-on training to local first responders and other entities, Highlands Regional Medical Center, along with the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office, Sebring Police Department, Aeromed, Highlands County Health Department and Highlands County Emergency Management will conduct a training exercise at 9 a.m. Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Highlands Regional and Fireman’s Field and conclude around noon.
Patient care at Highlands Regional Medical Center, including emergency services, will continue as normal. The emergency scenario will be staged in an area of the hospital that will ensure minimal disruption. Visitors may hear loud and sudden noises which are designed to simulate weapons fire. It should also be noted that a significant number of emergency vehicles will be participating in this exercise.
