Earth Day celebrated in renovated Sadie Kahn Park

— The Sebring Community Redevelopment Agency, in conjunction with the city of Sebring and the Kahn family, has announced the completion of Sadie Kahn Park renovations in downtown Sebring.

The city’s 2014 Earth Day recognition ceremony took place Tuesday at the park, located on North Ridgewood Drive next to the Nan-ces-o-wee Hotel.

The Kahn family donated the park to the city, and renovations were funded by the Sebring CRA as part of its downtown Sebring redevelopment initiatives.

April includes two special recognitions: International Mother Earth Day is a celebration of the Earth and its ecosystems; Arbor Day encourages people to appreciate, plant and care for trees the last Friday of the month.

The CRA’s promotional theme for April is “Celebrating Mother Earth.”
