Woman accused of shoplifting

SEBRING - A woman already banned from Wal-Mart after previously being arrested on suspicion of shoplifting was again arrested after being accused of shoplifting, according to a report released Thursday.

Jill Mae Richardson, 54, 3224 Illinois Ave., Sebring, was arrested Dec. 24 by the Sebring Police Department and charged with trespass and third-degree grand theft.

A loss prevention officer saw Richardson put some items into a shopping cart and then attempt to leave without paying, the report said.

It was determined that Richardson attempted to leave with 31 items, the report said.

The report also said that in 2012 Richardson warned that she couldn't enter Wal-Mart.

Man accused of lewd behavior

SEBRING - A 28-year-old man was arrested on a felony charge after two juvenile girls reported the man exposed himself to them, according to a report released Thursday.

Bryan Christopher Upchurch, 28, 711 Crane St., Sebring, was arrested Dec. 25 by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with lewd/lascivious behavior involving a victim that is younger than 16.

The two girls reported that they were smoking cigarettes in a car when Upchurch approached them and asked for a cigarette, the report said.

When they refused, he began exposing himself, the report said.

Upchurch's father told deputies that Upchurch was recently beaten by some men after a woman accused him of peeping through a window, the report said.
