Woman accused of fraud and theft

SEBRING - The suspect in a theft from a man was described as a friend of the family, according to an arrest report released this week.

Lindsay Nicole Haushalter, 25, 6418 Old Plantation Ave., Sebring, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office on a warrant and was charged with giving false information to a pawnbroker, third-degree grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

The arrest came more than 1 1/2 years after July 2012, when the victim learned from a pawnshop that Haushalter pawned his class ring and another ring, the report said.

She also tried to pawn an imitation Rolex watch belonging to the victim, the report said.

The victim told authorities that Haushalter had open access to his girlfriend's house because she was a friend of the family and that she had babysitted the girlfriend's children.

Man charged with theft

SEBRING - The brother of a woman's roommate was accused of stealing jewelry from the woman, according to a report released this week.

Robert Dylan Farabee, 20, 510 U.S. 27, Apt./Lot 6, Avon Park, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with giving false information to a pawnshop broker, third-degree grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

The victim reported that her class ring was stolen and it was later discovered that a bracelet was missing.

Deputies received information that Farabee pawned both items, the report said.

The victim told authorities that Farabee was inside her residence at the time Farabee's sister moved in with her.
