Man arrested after being accused of threatening man with gun

HIGHWAY PARK - A man who authorities say entered a house and threatened a man with a gun was arrested, according to a report released Thursday.

Sherwyn Murray Wyche, 32, 155 Josephine St., Lake Placid, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary while armed.

The report said that Wyche had gone to a house to see a 15-year-old girl. During that visit, Wyche was alleged to have pointed a gun at the girl's brother and told him to get her.

When a deputy arrived following a 911 call, he encountered Wyche walking in the area and asked to check him for weapons, the report said.

Wyche fled, but was later apprehended, the report said.

Man accused of assaulting his wife

SEBRING - A Sebring man was arrested April 2 after his wife said he threatened to kill her, according to a report released Thursday.

Jeffrey Allen Snyder, 46, no street address give, Sebring, was arrested by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with felony assault.

A granddaughter told deputies that Snyder drank a lot of alcohol and was repeatedly threatening to kill her grandmother.

The granddaughter and grandmother told the deputy that Snyder has anger issues and showed him dents in the walls of the house, the report said.
